Latest Purchases of BRK-B, DIS, UL

On 1/15/2015, I made three purchases within my Loyal3 account on top of the $25/month that I’ve already been buying of Berkshire-Hathaway, Disney, and Unilever. I’m particularly interested in Disney, which I feel has a great growth potential. Disney owns ESPN and ABC, among other things.

I purchased $500 worth of DIS, which included reinvesting the $2.62 I received in its annual dividend earlier this month. I also purchased $250 each of BRK-B and UL.

Altogether, these three purchases increase my annual dividend by $16.05. (BRK-B, as solely a growth stock, does not pay a dividend.) Since Disney only pays annually, I will not be able to participate in the increased dividend until next January.

My forward 12-month dividends are now $3,700.31 ($308.36/month). I am $399.26 away from my annual dividend goal in 2015. I remain invested in 26 companies.

My next picks will likely be in the asset management category and will be bought using the remaining 2015 contribution into my Roth IRA. These will be new companies to my portfolio.

Company Symbol Shares Price Yield Expected Annual Dividend
Berkshire-Hathaway BRK-B 1.6879 148.11 N/A N/A
Disney DIS 5.3262 93.88 1.22% $6.12
Unilever UL 6.0828 41.10 3.43% $8.76

Forward 12-Month Dividends: $3,700.31 ($308.36/month).

Full disclosure: Long BRK-B, DIS, UL

  1. I absolutely love DIS as a long term dividend growth company. Their dividend growth in the last 5 years has been amazing! They’ll definitely be a company in 20-30 years that you’ll be very happy owning.

Like the UL buy the most from the ones above. Anything around $40 seems to be a good value for that one considering future growth prospects and current dividend yield. i wonder if BX is on your list going forward. Great passive dividend income being earned. Look forward to your next update.

      Hey DivHut,

I do like UL at anything around the $40 mark as well. If it drops a bit I’ll have to do a little bit larger purchase.

Yep. As far as private equity companies, I’ve been looking at both KKR and BX. I’ll have to compare the two a bit more before investing. From what I’ve read on Seeking Alpha, it seems that BX may becoming more of a real estate company…not sure if there’s any truth in that or what that actually entails.
