About Scott

Hello! Thank you for visiting my page. And thanks for checking out the Two Investing site. I just wanted to give you a little information about myself so you can get some context for my posts. I am a 33 year old radiologist who just finished his fellowship training in Chicago and moved to Minnesota for an attending job.

I am maxing out a Roth IRA at $5,500 per year (now via a backdoor approach). I also keep a small amount of cash in a checking account and then the rest, after paying credit card and other bills in full, goes into stocks within a taxable brokerage account. In order to keep fees low, I typically invest with at least $3000 at a time so that commission fees are less than 0.5%.

I decided to start keeping track of my investments so that I could look back in the future and see where I started. I am kind of weird in that I love working with numbers and building spreadsheets to keep track of everything. As I went on, I realized that there are communities of people out there who are doing the same thing and/or looking for investment tools/ideas. I’m making my spreadsheets available on Google Spreadsheets at the Spreadsheets link above.

I’m hoping that I’ll be able to document my own trades and maybe exchange some investing ideas along the way. I’ll be trying to update this blog at least once a week.

My investment strategy involves dividend growth stocks. While they aren’t typically the most exciting stocks out there, it is fun to get paid each month by the companies I own. In 2014 I will also be branching out into some smaller growth stocks. And, as of May 2014, I have approximately $5,500 that I will be devoting to generating income through options.

Please feel free to contact me via the Contact Us link above. I look forward to any questions or comments.
